Our Values

At Green House Designs, our goal is to create spaces that transform the lives of our clients and our local community for the better. This means working every day towards providing a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment for our employees.  Green House Designs is more than just the spaces we design - we believe in healthy communities, for us and our planet. The following core values and guiding philosophy drive all our work.

  • Our commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly design runs deep. We pledge to uphold the values of the Sustainable Furnishings Council to ensure ethical, globally conscious, and environmentally sustainable practices.

  • We focus on creating a positive client experience where we consistently provide quality, personalized customer service.

  • Employee wellbeing matters. We put people first in all that we do. A great work product comes from a positive, engaged workplace where employees feel valued.

  • As a Queer, woman-owned business we value diversity, equity, and inclusion. We seek to dismantle systems of oppression and welcome clients and employees of diverse backgrounds.

  • We stand with Black Lives Matter and all those marginalized and abused by systemic racism.

  • We operate on stolen Piscataway land and benefit from a history of genocide against indigenous people. We pledge to uplift indigenous voices and organizations in support of their efforts for sovereignty, dignity, safety, and the preservation of their cultures.

Why Eco-Friendly Design?

As a consumer, you’re presented with an overwhelming amount of product options when you decide to remodel your kitchen or bath. From cabinets to flooring, there are an infinite number of aesthetic and functional choices to be made. But where do you begin when you want to make an informed choice based on the sustainability of that product, or its impact on the health of you and your family?

  • Did you know some cabinets still contain formaldehyde? I can help you avoid those and other harmful VOC’s that can affect your health.

  • Did you know some wood flooring companies don’t manage their forests well? I can help you find those that certify their material from the forest to the consumer.

  • Have you ever considered how granite countertops aren’t a renewable resource on our planet? I actively seek out countertop materials that contain recycled content or come from well managed resources.

I share many of the same concerns you do. As a person allergies, asthma, and sensitivities to commonly used chemicals, I understand how difficult it is to find products that won’t make me ill AND align with my personal values.

I understand the importance of the putting People and the Planet before Profits. In building this design firm, I’m always striving towards a healthy balance between social equity, environmental concerns and local economies.
